Today Vantage announces the launch of Slack support for cost report notifications. Vantage users can now add a Slack webhook to their Vantage account and receive daily, weekly or monthly reports of their cloud costs in their team's slack channels.
Before, the only way for Vantage customers to see their cloud costs was either by logging into the Vantage console, querying the Vantage API or receiving cost report notifications via email. While this was helpful, some teams prefer to see cloud costs where their team's discussion happens — and Slack tends to be that place.
Now, Vantage users can add Vantage to their team's Slack account and adjust cost report notifications to be delivered both via email and to a specific channel in Slack. Vantage users can edit existing cost report notifications or create new ones where they'll be able to choose any number of Slack channels from their team's account.
Slack support is available to all Vantage users at the time that this blog post has been published. Users can connect their Slack account on the Report Notifications page and clicking the Setup Slack Integration button. Once this is done all cost report notifications will have a Slack Channels field where the desired channels can be selected.

6. How do I add the Vantage integration to my team’s Slack?
Visit the Report Notifications page and click the "Setup Slack Integration" button. This will take you to a Slack page describing our requested permissions. Then choose any channel where you would like to add the integration.
7. How do I update an existing cost report notification to go from email to Slack?
After adding the Vantage Slack integration you can click "edit" on a Cost Report Notification and there will be a "Slack Channels" field. You can start typing any channel where you would like that report notification to be delivered. You can add as many channels as you like and they will all receive the notification.
8. Do I need to change any settings on my Slack account to enable this integration?
You will not have to change any settings on your account. However you will need to have permissions to add integrations to your team's Slack account.
9. Can I request the latest cost data with a Slack /command?
Not at this time but this is something we plan to add in the near future.
10. Can I adjust the time of day which Vantage delivers a Slack Cost Report Notification?
Not at this time. Right now all Cost Report notifications are delivered at 11AM EST.
11. What permissions does Vantage need on my Slack account for this integration?
Vantage has permissions to list and join channels as well as post messages to those channels. Vantage does not read any message posted in those channels.
