Vantage Launches Support for Coralogix Costs

by Vantage Team

Vantage Coralogix Integration

Today, Vantage announces support for Coralogix costs in the Vantage console. Vantage customers can now see their overall Coralogix costs alongside their other infrastructure providers. Customers can add any number of Coralogix teams from the Integrations page, and Vantage will automatically ingest and visualize the costs accordingly.

Customers typically use Coralogix for full-stack observability to understand their data, particularly streaming usage. Coralogix is usage-based and scales with the amount of data being transacted. A challenge arises when customers are unable to view logs, metrics, trace, and security events across multiple providers. This lack of visibility impedes identification of cost drivers, efficient resource allocation, and the ability to make informed decisions about optimization strategies. This difficulty is further exacerbated by the need to log in to multiple providers’ cost dashboards (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, and Kubernetes) to see these individual costs.

Now, customers can grant Vantage secure access to their Coralogix billing data via the Coralogix Data Usage Service API. The API is accessible by connecting Vantage to a Coralogix organization via an API key and domain. Upon granting access, Vantage will ingest usage line items, which are used to calculate overall costs and credits. Filters in Vantage have been expanded to allow filtering on Coralogix costs with dimensions of a specific service, cost category, and cost subcategory. By combining filters for Coralogix and the infrastructure provider where the compute portion of their application is running, users are able to see the combined costs for their entire application deployment in a single view.

Support for Coralogix is now available to all users at the time of this blog post. In addition, you can read more about this integration in the Coralogix section of the Vantage documentation. To connect your Coralogix account to Vantage, navigate to the Integrations page of account settings.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What is being launched today?

Today, Vantage is announcing support for Coralogix costs. Vantage users can now connect Vantage to their Coralogix organizations using an API key and domain, and costs will automatically be ingested and visualized within Vantage from the corresponding organization. Vantage will refresh cost data from Coralogix on a daily basis to ensure data is always up to date.

2. Who is the customer?

This feature is available to all Vantage users, including users in the free tier. You must have a Coralogix account.

3. What is Coralogix?

Coralogix offers full-stack observability for streaming events. Their platform enables its customers to understand their costs by providing monitoring of logs, metrics, trace, and security events.

4. How much does this cost?

There is no additional cost for Coralogix support; however, Coralogix costs will be included in quota tier enforcement. In the event that your Coralogix costs push you over your current tier limit, you may be prompted to upgrade. To see more details on pricing, please refer to the Pricing page.

5. How does Vantage technically integrate with Coralogix?

Vantage connects to Coralogix organizations through gRPC API calls. After authorizing Vantage access to your Coralogix organization, Vantage will begin ingesting data using the Data Usage Service API endpoints. All credentials are encrypted.

No access is granted to the Coralogix-connected applications. Vantage can see only usage data related to the connected services.

The Coralogix API provides structured cost data, broken down by service (e.g., Logs, Metrics, Spans), category (e.g., subsystem name), and subcategory (e.g., application name).

6. Does Vantage have write access to my Coralogix account?

No, Vantage cannot perform writes to your Coralogix account. Vantage is only able to see metadata associated with your usage.

7. What dimensions can Coralogix costs be filtered by?

Coralogix reports can be filtered by the service (e.g., Logs, Metrics, Spans), category (e.g. subsystem name), and subcategory (e.g., application name).

Because the Metrics service doesn’t have a subsystem or application name, those costs cannot be filtered by category or subcategory.

8. Which Coralogix services does Vantage support?

Vantage supports the Logs, Metrics, and Spans services, as well as the application name and subsystem name for the account.

The subsystem name typically refers to the environment (e.g., production, development, or staging).

The application name typically refers to the name of the service or applications that send your logs, metrics, and traces.

Both the subsystem and application names can be customized, so your values may be different.

9. Are there any active resources available for Coralogix?

No, not at this time, but if you’re interested in seeing this added, please reach out to support@vantage.sh.

10. Which Cost Report groupings are available for Coralogix costs?

Coralogix costs can be grouped by service, category, and subcategory.

11. How often does Coralogix data refresh in the Vantage console?

Coralogix data refreshes daily in the Vantage console.

12. What happens if I remove a Coralogix integration?

If you decide to remove your Coralogix integration from Vantage, all costs associated with your Coralogix API key will be removed from the Vantage console.

13. Can I have multiple Coralogix team integrations?

Any number of Coralogix teams may be added by including the team name in the Description field of the Vantage integration workflow.

14. Will Coralogix costs be represented in the Overview page?

Yes, Coralogix costs are represented in the Overview page and present in the Provider Summary widget.

15. I’ve just added my Coralogix organization. How long will it take for my cost data to be present in the Vantage console?

Costs will be ingested and processed as soon as you add the integration. It usually takes less than 15 minutes to ingest Coralogix costs. As soon as they are processed, they will be available on your All Resources Cost Report.

16. Will historical cost data for Coralogix be available?

Yes, when following the integration setup, Vantage will ingest the previous 90 days of historical usage data based on the limit imposed by Coralogix.

17. What other cloud service providers is Vantage adding?

Vantage is planning on adding support for fly.io, ClickHouse, and Vercel. Please contact support@vantage.sh with other providers you’d like to see added.

18. Does Vantage account correctly for credits and discounts?

Coralogix doesn’t have a concept of credits or discounts, so applying them in a Cost Report will have no effect on the costs presented.
