Today, Vantage announces the launch of integrating cur.vantage.sh into the Vantage console. AWS practitioners who are having trouble understanding AWS billing codes present in Vantage Cost Reports and Resource Reports can now easily find descriptions of each billing code, other variations of that billing code, and other services that use the same billing code.
Link to cur.vantage.sh will now show for each AWS billing code when grouped by or drilled into subcategory
cur.vantage.sh is a free utility that gives cloud practitioners simple definitions of billing codes for every AWS service. The site has a distinct page for each AWS service (e.g., S3 or EC2) that clusters together similar billing codes for that service, as there may be separate or distinct billing codes for each individual region. For each clustered billing code, the Vantage technical writing team has extensively researched and editorialized a simple definition of the billing code to help practitioners understand what the billing code represents.
Now, with the integration of cur.vantage.sh into the Vantage console, Vantage users with the AWS provider integration will have direct links to descriptions of AWS billing codes on Cost Reports and Active Resource pages. When viewing AWS costs in a Cost Report, grouped by Subcategory, users can click on a direct link to a description page for any AWS billing code to learn more about it. Users can also navigate from any AWS Active Resource page to the corresponding cur.vantage.sh service page to explore all the billing codes associated with that service.
This feature is now available to all Vantage customers with an AWS integration. To get started, navigate to Cost Reports or Active Resource pages. To learn more about AWS Billing codes, visit cur.vantage.sh.
